Every song here starts the same way: me, a guitar, and a rough demo. I write the riffs, record them, and shape the songs — then I use AI music tools to take those demos where a solo musician couldn't go alone: full production, vocals, and the wall of sound these songs deserve.
No band. No studio budget. No gatekeepers. Just ideas that used to live on a hard drive, finally realized.
I believe tools like these are doing for solo musicians what the four-track recorder and the home studio did for earlier generations — closing the gap between what you can hear in your head and what you can actually release. Used honestly and creatively, they don't replace the artist. They set the artist loose.

Two five-song instrumental EPs bring together ten earlier singles, each one built from a guitar demo, for focus, study, car rides, and quiet time.
September 25, 2026 — whispertone, the one-man project of Puerto Rican guitarist John F. Feliciano, has collected ten of its lo-fi singles into a series called reflection. reflection, vol. 1 came out Friday, September 18, 2026, and reflection, vol. 2 followed today, Friday, September 25, 2026. Each EP gathers five instrumental singles first released between November 2025 and May 2026 so they can be heard together as one listen. A third volume is planned.
For John, reflection means taking a moment to grow by thinking about past experiences, and taking in all aspects and phases of life. The two volumes approach that idea from different sides.
reflection, vol. 1 brings together introspect, clarity, perspective, optimist, and delight. In order, the titles move from looking inward to looking ahead.
Taking a moment to reflect and “introspect” is how you begin to know yourself. From that stillness comes “clarity” — the kind that lets you look at what you’ve lived through and finally gain “perspective”. Once you can see the shape of it, there’s room to meet life as an “optimist” and “delight” in what each moment actually holds.
reflection, vol. 2 collects melancholy, waves, journey, drift, and vibe, five pieces about feelings that come and go.
Some feelings don’t ask permission. They just arrive. There are times we feel “melancholy” for how things were. Life moves like “waves” — moments come and go. It is a “journey”, and you “drift” through each one. Every stretch carries its own experiences and leaves behind a “vibe” you remember long after the tide pulls back.
Every track started the same way as a whispertone rock song: a guitar demo that John wrote and recorded. He then produced and finished each one with AI-assisted tools in Suno. The pieces draw on electronic textures, instrumental guitar, rock, and Caribbean musical elements. No band. No studio budget. No gatekeepers. The guitar is still where every piece starts.
The reflection series is made for the background: car rides, concentration, studying, and relaxing. It fills the space with sound without intruding. For longer sessions, every song in the series also has a one-hour version on the whispertone YouTube channel.

whispertone is a one-man project from Puerto Rican guitarist John F. Feliciano.
It exists as a creative outlet — so ideas see the light of day and reach new ears, instead of living only in his mind.
Rock is the center of gravity: modern rock up front, with the weight of 1990s rock and grunge underneath. The songs are raw and sophisticated in the same breath — not sanded down into something they are not, and not left unfinished.
Every rock track starts the same way: guitar, a rough demo, then the rest of the arrangement. AI is used to make the demo come to life — vocals, density, the wall of sound a solo musician could not build alone. Used honestly, the tools do not replace the artist. They set the artist loose.
The songs also serve as a journal. Themes become a way to sit with reflective topics and life experience: perspective shifts, old chapters closing, resilience that cost something.
Lofi instrumentals sit beside that work. Built for deep focus and background listening, they pull from electronic textures, instrumental guitar, rock, and Caribbean musical elements without making any of those the whole story.
Message to Venus is the parallel band. DE'FEKT was an earlier alternative rock/metal project in Puerto Rico. whispertone is the catalog that does not wait on a rehearsal room.
